Solar Photospheric Abundances (M.Asplund et al. 2009)

Joachim Köppen Kiel July 2019

This utility displays the abundances of the chemical elements in the solar photosphere, as determined by M.Asplund, N.Grevesse, A.J.Sauval, and P.Scott 2009, Ann.Rev.Astron.Astrophys., 47, 481-522. Only elements up to zinc are listed.
The left fields give the abundances by the number N(X) of atoms, relative to hydrogen, in the spectroscopic notation of 12 + log10(N(X)/N(H)). The right fields give the abundances in terms of mass fractions, relative to the total of 1, convenient for models of stellar evolution, chemical evolution, and cosmology.
Also, the total mass fraction of the 'metals' (i.e. everything other than H and He) is displayed.
The table is recomputed if one hits the enter key after e.g. modifying an entry.
