Viewer for NOAA solar radio flux data
Joachim Köppen DF3GJ ... Kiel, Nov.2020
Some brief explanations
- This is a tool to inspect and visualize the solar radio flux data
collected by NOAA,
from the past few years.
- Fluxes vs. Frequency displays for a given day the radio fluxes
measured at local noon on various frequencies by a world-wide network
stations. The datum index number can directly be entered, or changed
with the navigation buttons.
- Flux vs. Time shows the data for a selected station and selected
frequency. Note that not all stations measure at all frequencies.
The magenta vertical line marks the chosen date.
- Flux Comparison compares the data of any two frequencies and
stations. Data taken before the chosen date (in the navigation buttons)
are rendered red, the later ones are done in blue.
- Show Quiet Sun: for comparison the radio fluxes from the quiet
sun can be overlaid as a blue curve.
- Solar Flux Unit: 1 SFU = 10000 Jy
- Note that these data are original data, which include equipment failures,
level jumps, and spikes from radio interference!
