By train:
Kiel can be reached by train from any large German city via "Hamburg Hauptbahnhof" where you may have to change to a local train with final destination Kiel. Intercity (IC) and Intercity Express (ICE) connects Hamburg with Jena, Braunschweig, Frankfurt, Munich, Düsseldorf, Berlin, etc. There is a limited number of through trains that terminate in Kiel. More information and timetables may be helpful.
By car:
Take the motorway/freeway via Hamburg (Autobahn A7), change to no. A215 at the motorway crossroad "Autobahndreieck Bordesholm". For more travel details a route planner may be helpful.
By plane:
As some of you will arrive by plane, Hamburg Airport (Time table) is the closest airport to Kiel. From there, take the shuttle bus "Kielius" to Kiel (bus stop outside Hamburg airport). The bus stop in Kiel is close to Kiel railway station and thus very close to the hotel "Berliner Hof" and the workshop location.

We have made a block reservation (15 rooms) in the hotel "Hotel Berliner hof" for one night (Feb 13 - 14). This hotel is located close to the railway station and also is in walking distance of our meeting venue.
The Berliner Hof is only one minute away from the central bus and train station. The terminals for the Scandinavia ferry and cruise ships are in close proximity. And you can easily arrive by car from every direction. There are 30 parking lots for you convenience. At night parking areas are locked. They are located only 200 m west of the central station.

The workshop will take place at the Guest house (Internationales Begegnungszentrum) of the university, which is located directly at the fjord Kiellinie 5, 24105 Kiel.

How to get to the workshop site from Kiel Hbf:
- By bus, it can be reached using lines 41/42, which leave at platform B3 in front of the main station (direction Suchsdorf/Tannenberg). The closest bus stop is "Kunsthalle".
Then turn right into the promenade "Kiellinie" at the waterfront.
The workshop venue (IBZ) is the tall red-brick building on the left after approximately 300 meters. A map can be seen here.
